What is the MANSON PRECISION - PRECISION REAMERS MUZZLE CROWN REFACING KIT?

Hand driver with spring-loaded adapter provides a fast, no lathe way to cut a smooth, concentric muzzle crown on both rifle and handgun barrels for an immediate improvement in accuracy. Expandable pilots provide precise alignment of the facing cutter with the bore. Includes two facing cutters for 0° or 11° crowns, each with precision ground three-blade inserts that quickly and easily remove the toughest material and provide a perfectly square barrel crown. Outside chamfer cutter deburrs the sharp edges for a clean, even finish. Kits include 0° facing cutter, 11° facing cutter, outside chamfer cutter, and two or five pilots depending on kit, plus a 1/8" pilot wrench, 5/64" allen wrench, setup gauge, power driver or manual handle, adapter, instructions, and storage case. Manual version includes a manual handle and adapter for slow even cuts and precise indexing of muzzle brakes. 2-Pilot Kit contains .22 and .30 caliber pilots. 5-Pilot Kit contains .22, .30, 6mm, 7mm, and .338 caliber pilots.

Great Investment

Purchased this tool to make a new crown on a used barrel I shortened to 24" in order to restore the rifling on a damaged tip. The tools performed perfectly. Much better than cheaper tools using a brass arbor. I do a bit of gunsmithing and I'm sure this tool will perform well on new barrel blanks as well. Worth every penny, I'll have to buy a few more arbors as needed.

Best crowning tool

Does the job done

Manson Precision Crowning Kit

As a law enforcement armorer I needed/wanted to cut down four (4) precision rifle barrels to 18". The cost of the two (2) arbor kit was close to the cost of having the work done. Once the kit arrived it was very easy to setup and use and it did a very fine job. Best of all a guy can hacksaw cut a precision rifle barrel and finish off the cut with this tool. A straight cut of course makes the finish job much faster. I have owned this kit for three years plus now and have cut down at least 20 barrels and have loaned it out to other agency's. It still cuts as well as it did on day one. The average time from start of cut to finish is about 30 minutes....taking your time. This is a very high quality tool and does a professional crowning job with ease. While the initial cost seems high it is well worth the cost and can pay for itself many times over.

What a time saver !!!!!!!!! WOW !

I use to use my south bend lathe and a 4 jaw chuck. and had to take the gun apart to do it. charged 1 hour labor and always took me two. With this it is done in 5 minuets!! WORTH the money !! Will be buying more adapters asap to do more.

Excellent kit for the money

Used the first time today to recrown a Mosin Nagant that I believe saw action due to the muzzle being so beat up. The set is very easy to use, remember to use cutting oil (as it states in the instructions) and it makes crowning a muzzle really easy.
