The quality of the blue finish is a major talking point, with several users noting the deep and attractive color achieved with the product. Users believe it offers a look similar to factory finishes when applied correctly, showcasing its effectiveness for touch-ups.
Application on Firearms
50%
While many users find Dicropan T-4 effective for small repairs, there's a consensus that it may not be ideal for larger applications, as results can vary based on the size of the area treated. Users often compare it favorably with other products they have used for cold bluing.
Comparison with Other Products
65%
Reviewers frequently compare Dicropan T-4 to other well-known cold blue products like Oxpho Blue and Perma Blue. While opinions vary, many feel that Dicropan matches or even exceeds their performance, particularly in terms of color depth and application speed.

Dicropan T-4 Creme,,,an excellent product…
This is my first time using Dicropan T-4 and was very impressed. I had an in the white carbon 1911 mainspring housing and wanted it blued. While my go-to cold blue is Oxpho Blue Creme which itself is the finest cold blue I’ve ever used…this time I wanted to do it more quickly. I first used 44-40 which I keep around for touching up small parts…it was disappointing on a larger piece to say the least. I have an unopened bottle of T-4 Creme and decided to give it a try. It did not disappoint. Apply…rinse…card…repeat…and it looks like a factory blue…really impressive. I’ve cold blued several 1911 slides and entire 1911s with Oxpho Blue Creme with excellent results…I’m just as pleased with Dicropan. I’m not sure I would try Dicropan on an entire pistol as Brownell’s states its intended for touch up…but it’s certainly impressive for a first time use. I think once my 44-40 is used up I won’t replace it…just keep using Dicropan.
Would you recommend this? Yes, I would recommend to a friend

I like it
Nice deep blue if you follow the instruction. I also use Oxpho Blue. Seems sometimes metals are different and different blues take better to different metals. So if you don't get the results you want try something different, it's not the blue's fault. I like the creme because it stays where I put it. I mostly use cold blue for repairing scratches and screw heads. I've tried lots of different cold blues over 50 years and I like this and Oxpho Blue best. I keep both on hand.

Best out there
I've used a bunch of cold blues and most do not match well or are very time consuming for their duration. Not a lot of return on the time investment, they just don't last long before they rub off. I don't buy into the whole "This one is the most durable..." Sorry Brownells, but that's a bunch of bilge water. Cold blues are not supposed to be used to blue an entire gun because none of them last long. You cannot get the penetration of a hot blue with a cold blue, period, unless you are going to go through the agonizing process of rust bluing (and then boiling a part isn't all that cold). However, T4 Creme has the deepest blue color of any cold blue I've ever tried. I usually use Birchwood Casey Perma Blue or Brownells Oxpho-Blue cremes but this is just as easy to control and works about 5 times faster, and gets a better looking blue/black color. No heating the part, water rinses, sacrifices to pagan idols, just degrease with acetone or alcohol (denatured not distilled please) apply creme wait one minute, wipe off and buff with 0000 steel wool. Repeat until dark enough, but it will only take two to three coats I promise. Then oil up the part and you're done. Does not affect surrounding blue either.

Its mid
Works but not well. used on multiple firearms, its dull and not very dark. It is fine for super small touchup in non visible areas but on anything larger than the tip of a pen I would not recommend this.
