What is the GROBET FILE CO. OF AMERICA INC - 1/2 Round Vulcanite File?

We've had lots of calls wanting us to find this file - and once you've tried it, you'll know why. Gives you 4 different cutting faces: half-round bastard, flat bastard, half-round 2nd cut and flat 2nd cut. Because of special shape, you can get into places easily where a square-ended file just won't fit. Fantastic for shadowline cheekpieces, shaping combs or schnables, inletting bolt knobs, around the wrist, tang and grip. Great on hard rubber, soft metals, plastics and wood.


SPECS: 8" (20.3cm) long. 1/2" (12.7mm) wide and tapers to 1/8" (3.2mm) at the points.

I love this file! Having two different cuts in round and flat adds so much verastility. I love the taper allowing precise work or decent size cuts. I got it for shaping my first custom stock and will definitely keep at least one on hand at all times.

Finest rasp for wood and horn shaping
This is the go-to rasp for roughing in and final dimensioning of gun stocks. It simply cuts where others slide and can be easily flipped in the hand alternately for aggressive or for fine cutting. I often use this where I used to use cabinet pattern maker's rasps and because of its smaller size and shape has the advantage of being a natural extension of the arm.

"Just what I was looking for"
Excellent file for shaping the grip of the stock, can get into those hard reach places other files can't. Especially behind the grip cap area where one wrong move can ruin countless hours or work.
