HOPPE'S - CLEANING RODS

The cleaning rods had good solid threaded fittings. It is a quality piece of gear. I clean my 10/22 and my S&W Victory for steel challenge matches.

Cheap and quality-- the old standby of rods. I'd recommend spending extra money on a coated rod, but this will do for most folks, especially for a pistol.

This is a 22 caliber rod with 22, 30, and shotgun slotted tips. The Hoppes product number 3PSS listed is correct for their universal stainless steel 3 piece rod, but misleading by Brownells listing as ".30 Caliber Steel Rifle Rod by Hoppes". So pay attention to the product number and picture in the listing, my mistake. I had an old Hoppes steel 30 cal rod that I liked and expected this one to be that when I ordered, but unfortunately not. I believe Hoppes has discontinued the old 30 cal rod as I could not find it listed at Hoppes website or for sale by other vendors. It's a serviceable rod kit for multi-caliber use, but it's not a 30 caliber rod. One additional negative noted, the 30 cal plastic slotted tip broke with first use, but I have other brass tips of correct thread size that I normally use to replace it.

I have had two of these Hoppes rods and both broke, one on its first use and the other after a couple of uses. Not worth the price either.
