WHEELER ENGINEERING - Delta Series AR Trigger Guard Installation Tool

First off, this tool is made in China and I have serious doubts about the long-term durability - for hobby use, however, it works just fine. After breaking an ear off a trigger guard a few years ago I decided to invest in one of these for projects. The bracket is anodized aluminum with a rubber pad to prevent abrasion against the opposite end of the receiver, with a steel threaded bolt drilled for the roll pin punches (one long, for removal, and one short, for installation). The tools are held in place by small magnets both on the threaded bolt and in the fixture, which is nice. The handle is a molded plastic "T" handle that appears to be overmolded against the threaded bolt. So far I've installed two trigger guards and after the first both the insertion and extraction punches showed flaring where they push the roll pins out (they are, however, cut like a standard roll-pin punch to fit inside the roll pin for support). Again, for hobby use it appears to be a good tool - and for the price it's worth it if you're assembling more than one lower and want consistency.

I have never had an issue installing or removing triggerguard pins, but I figured I would purchase this to see if it made the job any easier. Quite honestly, it works, but it takes less time to just use a punch. This tool isn't of the best quality, having a plastic t-handle, but it did the job. I wouldn't waste the money on this item, just support the reciever and use a punch...save your money and your time.

worked fine on the first three installs except for the pad coming loose but.... on number 4, the pin bent totally out of shape rendering this tool useless. will be sending it back for replacement.

On the 2nd trigger guard install the guide pin broke, pin snapped off. Thankfully it was close to flush and I only had to give a few taps with the Brownells brass hammer.
