works great - even in Wisconsin winters!

I've been very impressed with these! We used to use the Caldwell Flashbangs, but they are pricey and prone to get fragged since you mount them to the targets themselves. The HITS are much more affordable, and work very well. I have several different target styles so I usually mount a 1x2 to the frame of the targets and then strap on the HITS to the frame and it works great. They are sensitive enough that they actually work on trees. If we have a steel target hanging on a tree (or stump) you can mount the HITS on a 1x2 on the backside of the tree and it works if you hit the steel of the stump (which can be a con, but I'm just glad it worked in the first place with the steel). I bought more than I needed so when the batteries go low (hasn't happened in several months yet) I can just swap and charge the other set.

I purchased these to detect hits on steel out to 300+ yards with 22LR, they work great for that purpose. The mounting straps are quite versatile. I believe these to be great items at their price point.

Bought several of these figuring I have nothing to lose at this price point. I found them to be extremely sensitive to movement, which depending on your application can be a pro or a con. Unfortunately, there is usually a fair amount of wind in my area, which causes a small amount of movement in my target stands, so the indicators flash constantly. If you're always shooting in calm conditions or shooting light calibers at longer distance, it may work well for you. Unfortunately for my application they don't work. Hopefully there will be a GEN 2 where you can adjust sensitivity
