Nice and Accurate Chronograph
I bought this Caldwell G2 to use primarily at an indoor range. It operates from a rechargeable battery so it's a highly mobile chrono that will read pistol, rifle and arrow fps. The attached LED strips are bright which is essential to get accurate readings indoors with subdued lighting. I've used it primarily to measure factory ammo loads from pistols and PCC's. (I've also thrown a dart through it and it worked.) It's easy to set up on the tripod or a tabletop and packs away nicely in the included padded storage bag. However the shootable space/target area between the strips and unit above is a little small so shoot carefully! Also the front digital display is also small and hard to read past 6 feet. This chrono is really made to operate with a iPhone/Android smart phone. The free app is easy to use and has great features. However I think the battery life of the unit is quite limited. I used this on a full charge (for over 2 hours and 100 shots) and after 45 minutes I was getting repeated errors. I also used this outside and was getting errors after 1 hour. I'm guessing the LED lights eat up lots of battery time. Overall this chrono is accurate and great to set up for a few quick string of shots indoors or outside...but won't last on an extended shooting session.
